No Booze AND No Coulter?!?!?!?

Colorado’s KKTV reports:

A religious freedom foundation says it has uncovered evidence that bolsters its federal lawsuit claiming that the military is permitting widespread violations of religious freedom at installations across the country.

Included in the evidence disclosed yesterday are photos and videos of religious materials and activities at Fort Riley in Kansas, the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, and Fort Jackson, South Carolina.

The evidence is part of a lawsuit filed by the Military Religious Freedom Foundation — headed by 1977 Air Force graduate Mike Weinstein.

Among the evidence is a book for sale at the Fort Riley post exchange titled “A Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam.”

Other evidence includes a display outside a military police battalion’s office with a quote from conservative columnist Ann Coulter that reads: quoting — “We should invade their countries, kill their leaders and convert them to Christianity.”

Military officials say their policy is to accommodate all religious beliefs.

I actually think it should be mandatory to have Coulter’s quote in every military office, cubicle, tank and tent.  In fact, if you know anyone currently serving in the military, send their APO address to me at lisajanine1112 (at) yahoo.com and I’ll gladly send them this poster of Coulter* at my own expense.  

*This asterisk absolves LOTUS from any repercussions that may come from the PC police and their time-wasting antics against the military.

    OK, I haven’t had my coffee yet… I don’t get it - their “evidence” seems to show widespread First Amendment freedoms?? Unless they are saying we are not “free” unless we quell any expression of Christianity and Conservatism; which, as we all know, are the true causes of evil in the world today. (Note the sarcasm dripping from the last sentence.)

    It’s not clear to me why anyone takes Ann Coulter seriously. She’s a self-admitted provocateur, saying and doing whatever it takes to grab headlines and sell books. Her ‘opinions’ such as they are, manage a ludicrous combination of the hateful, the misleading, and the ridiculous.

    To those on the left, I’d say, “Lighten up. She’s a self-refuting goof. Even her own side apologizes for her.”

    To those on the right, I’d say, “Surely you can find a better champion than this preening basket of neurosis and self-adulation.

    “Ms Coulter’s narcissism borders on the clinical. Find a better advocate, and you’ll win a few more arguments. Stick with Coulter? Only if a diet of shrill whine satisfies you.”

    Meantime, let’s get back to serious debate led by serious people. Ann Coulter is just, well… silly.

    How do these moronic lawsuits ever come to fruition? Why do liberals feel freedom of religion or anything else for that matter only applies to some [usually a small special interest group]? I’d like to meet these constitutionally challenged attorneys who actually feel they might have a shot at winning one of these cases so I could laugh in their faces. If I were in amongst a large group of people from one religion who were espousing their beliefs without attempting to indoctrinate, and I was from a different religion, I wouldn’t sew over it - I would expect those around me to be themselves while also feeling free to live by my own beliefs. The liberal mind is so utterly narcissistic and self-absorbed it never fails to astound and disgust me. Ann Coulter is a Constitutional Attorney if I’m not mistaken, and I’m sure she wouldn’t touch these liberal tantrum cases with a 50 foot pole. And yes, in wartime she’s a far better inspiration than any other pin-up gal. Amen.

    Most of you are so naive about how this country was designed. All your freedoms come from Christianity. The whole concept of our Declaration and Constitution are based on Biblical teachings, right down to the republic (not democracy), free markets, freedom of speech, and unalienable rights.
    You don’t understand your rights, and you believe you have the right to do whatever you want as long as it feels good at the moment. In the old days, that type of thinking would have gotten you a boat ticket back to the British Empire. Freedom does not mean free to be a total immoral demented hedonistic idiot.

    The problem is that over time the secularists have successfully erased the proper study of our founders lives and their true purposes from our educational system. All our history is now taught based on economics only, as if money was the only thing that mattered. Your college degrees could not hold a candle to an 8th grade education from the 1700’s. All those schools were run by the various Christian denominations. Once education finally migrated to government control, people started getting very stupid.

    First they make us stupid, then they get us fighting, then they ruin our country. Socialism does not work folks. And at the rate we’re going, you will find out for sure in your lifetime. Most of you have no idea what America is all about and why.

    My advise to you is go to the library of congress and read all the documents from our founders right from the Declaration, and don’t stop until you hit around 1900. Then you’ll have a clue as to what’s really been going on and how stupid we have really become, and why we are so easily manipulated into a raging ignorant stupor.

    Ok..Your missing the point here. Freedom of Religion does not mean “Just Christianity”. Congress added the words “under God” to the Pledge of Allegiance in 1954, and passed a law requiring all U.S. currency to carry the motto “In God We Trust” a year later.

    Of course the majority of the founding fathers had Christian backgrounds..They were driven away from Europe because they wanted to practice their beliefs. But do you feel that any other religion should be able to practice theirs as well? Things have changed very much since our country’s inception and there are many different religions and world views. Each one of them make similar claims as to being the “One True Faith” and how everyone else is wrong. To say, “I’m right because my book says so.” is invalid. So does everyone elses…

    I do not want to see someones right to worship as they please removed. I believe if a child wishes to pray in school before a test or just because they should be able to do so…on their own time..without making a giant fiasco. I do not feel that the state should pay for or sanction any specific religion. Not Christianity, Judaism, Islam (which all come from the same Abrahamic roots) or any of the other faiths out there. I don’t want to see any religious symbols on government property.

    Since when has the conservative base turned soley to rediculous issues like gay marriage and abortion and faith? We should be concentrating on resolving the collapsing dollar..Finding an efficient and effective way to win the War..Decreasing the unemployment rate…Anything but dogmatic issues.

    Abortion…Well, whether you like it or not…It’s a womans right to choose. It’s her body and she has the decision to make. I don’t personally agree with it and would never endorse it as an option in my personal life. It is the woman herself that will deal with the consequences for her actions in either this life or the next. In regards to Gay Marriage. That’s the big one isn’t it? Everyone has something to say on the matter….Some of the more rediculous statements being that it will be the “end of society” or what have you….Honestly…It’s not like we are illegalizing heterosexual marriage. They aren’t endorsing pedophelia or any such nonsense. It’s two consenting adults wanting to be able to have the same financial benefits of anyone else. You get married, you pay the marriage tax. How is more people paying taxes a bad thing? Seriously people…We have a right to free speech and a right to disagree with what happens but we do not have the right to make someone else conform to our beliefs. Our society has come a long way and should not allow it’s development to be hindered by ancient traditions.

    As far as Ann Coulter is concerned…She’s a shock jock. She admits it. And the reason she needs to be ignored? Because she’s just a journalist. She’s not in any position of political power and she speaks hateful messages. We are not trying to convert everyone to Christianity. I fought in both theatres in the current War with the US Army and I am not Christian. Many of my squad mates were, but then again, the majority of America is Christian. That’s why I never understood the whole persecuted thing…It’s really difficult to be the “persecuted majority”. Persecution is denying you the ability to gather in churches…Putting you into concentration camps like the Jews in WW2. Feeding you to lions and the like. Persecution is -not- telling you to play nice with others and not impose your beliefs on other people.

    As for persecution of Christians, it’s not as overt as being sent to a concentration camp, but it is there. The ACLU will pursue any lawsuit as long as it is filed against Christians.     People are discouraged from saying Merry Christmas, because Christmas is a Christian holiday and we wouldn’t want to offend anybody would we?     In England, another predominantly Christian country, the courts upheld a school’s decision to not allow a student to wear her Christian jewelry. They claimed it was against the dress code; the student’s point was that Muslim students consistently broke the rules by wearing head coverings and jewelry and were not reprimanded.

    Every major persecution has started small and snowballed. People did not wake up one day and decide to throw Jews in the concentration camps; it was the result of a long period of persecution that eventually escalated to the death camps.

    I could mention illegal drugs etc where government has a vested intrest in your body but I digress. It is not the womans body in question. It is an individual with a completely different genetic makeup than either parent. There can be much discussion on when life begins, but the Supreme Court has never, and will probably never rule on that particular sticky issue. So you see it is not the womans body but the body of another unique individual. No matter how it is argued or twisted that is the one fact that is the sticking point. I am not brilliant or learned enough to say with certainty when life begins, but wouldn’t it be prudent to err conservativly instead of taking a chance on murder, even if murder was not the intended result.

    Well, if you’d read her books you’d realize that she thinks women shouldn’t be able to vote, much less serve in office. And as I’m sure everyone out there knows but doesn’t want to admit, there is NO disparity between the intelligence levels of liberals and conservatives- they just have differing views. Even if Miss Coulter did swing the intelligence meter in the conservatives’ direction, I’m afraid that President Bush would head butt it back to its previous locale.

    I have tremendous respect for what the Republican Party used to stand for: supporting the common man by keeping taxes low and the government out of everyone’s business.     Your suggestion that Islam is morally equivalent to Christianity is ludicrous. When 60+ percent of Muslims living in western societies say in polling that the believe that Sharia should be instituted in the countries they moved to, it says that even the so-called moderate, peaceful Muslims believe in the most barbaric doctrines of their religion.

    They are also saying the rest of us have no freedom of religion, because the very heart of Sharia and Islam in general is the belief that anyone practicing any other religion are dhimmi. Remember that term well, as your throat is being slashed for your atheism and your wife is being raped. I suggest you look up the term dhimmi, kuffar, and jigza. Then you will know where you will stand with Muslims.     I’ve always found Ann to be very thought-provoking. I know liberals hate her, and want to pass on the myth that conservatives try to distance themselves from her. Funny thing is, I’ve never met a liberal who has read any of her columns or her books.

    Then again, I’ve never met a liberal who understands history. Like Reagan said, “A liberal is someone who reads Marx and Lenin. A conservative is one who understands Marx and Lenin.”

    I find it sad how modern liberals ignore history - even recent history - and believe that their “new ideas” will ever work. Take any topic…say, socialized medicine. It’s been tried numerous times over many, many years in many, many countries, and it has always failed. Somehow liberals either are intentionally ignorant of this, know it but refuse to acknowledge it for the sole purpose of pandering and gaining “power,” or just don’t understand that it doesn’t make sense to watch others bang their heads against a wall hundreds of times without effect, yet somehow banging our (the US’) head against the same wall knock it down.
