William F. Buckley (1925-2008)
I don’t have much to add that hasn’t already been written by people much more eloquent than I am. Instead I’ll just post this witty exchange:
“Mr. Buckley,” one non-fan wrote in 1967, “you are the mouthpiece of that evil rabble that depends on fraud, perjury, dirty tricks, anything at all that suits their purposes. I would trust a snake before I would trust you or anybody you support.”
Responded Buckley: “What would you do if I supported the snake?”

She writes, “I prefer to remember the Buckley who scandalized to the bien-pensant. “ Coulter and Buckley are similar in at least two ways. Both have a dry wit that I love and both always seem to use words I have to look up.

Kudos for Coulter linking to your blog…and I love it. You always have a way of being subtle about your emotions, and you don’t show them a lot, but when you do it’s extraordinarily meaningful.

I’m not sure that you could compare Buckley to Coulter–Buckley founded a movement, while the only movement Coulter will found are a bunch of people who think that Hillary is preferrable to McCain, and that Joe McCarthy was something other than the Michael Savage of his day.

ANN, Concerning the Bears-Stearns situation -President BUSH made ann address today to stim the panic and to calm the markets, butB. Aaron warned -We are going into dangerous territory -in light of recent events- dangerous territory-Lets steer away ! OH come ON ! What acomeback the markets could make. The markets are as fascinating as twins are in the family. UP ANN DOWN and all around. The markets will knock yOu out though. We all have our fingers in the financial pie.

GOOD MORNING ( S) ANN, Being what something is all about-the measured advice(like a melody ) BEAUTIFULLY GIVEN ANN DELIGHTFULLY RECEIVED is -forget the panic- settle down-panic is not justified- even though fear mentality is playing in- don”t play into it ANN there is no reason to think that our markets are’t going to DO what they have been DOING -growing ann prospering…hold ona little bit longer-just hang, hangoutbut do keep those fingers (in the financial pie) crossed at all times .In other words -Imagine the rain COMING down on a sunny day.
